Barrister Eric Chigozie Ibe

Barrister Eric Chigozie Ibe is a rising star in Nigeria’s legal profession. He obtained his First Degree from the University of Abuja, where he graduated with LLB in Law and was call to the Nigeria Bar in 2012. He went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Refugee and International Humanitarian Law at Nasarawa State University, Keffi in 2018. And he has completed a Master’s degree in law (LLM) with focus on International Law and Diplomacy, and currently pursuing a PhD. in law.

Ibe started his legal career with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Tower) as an Investigator in 2011. In 2012 he joined Osita Aboloma & Associates in Abuja, where he currently serves as the Managing Attorney for the Firm. His responsibilities include advocacy, property law, corporate law, and litigations and securities consulting. His expertise in commercial service includes matters in agency, distribution, licensing and franchising, trade mark and patent licensing, copyright protection, non-disclosure agreements, commercial disputes, and terms and conditions of trade. In employment law, his services include contracts and employment/service agreements, redundancies, wrongful/unfair terminations, employment of foreign nationals with work and immigration permits.

An emerging scholar in law, Ibe is a lecturer with the Faculty of Law, Veritas University, Abuja and has also began contributing to the body of knowledge in the profession. He has written over 31 articles and case studies on dispute resolutions on the African continent orchestrated by the United Nations, as well as arguments supporting the thesis that aggression is an international crime. He is a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His professional affiliations include Member, Association of Nigerian Authors; Member, Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT); Member, Association of Professional Negotiators and Mediators of Nigeria; Member, Nigerian Institute of Management; Member, Associate Member, Institute of Professional Manager and Administrators of Nigeria; Member, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators. Ibe was the former secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja branch. He is a fellow and General Secretary, Immigration Law Practitioners Association of Nigeria. recently, he was elected at the NBA National Election 2024 as Representative to the General Council of the Bar.
